In 1963, Jack’s, Hobie and Makaha were already doing skate competitions in California but the style back then was freestyle. Think ice skating on a skateboard. By 1965, skateboarding was pretty much a dead sport and many companies closed down.Those who wanted to skate had to make their own skateboards.

‘This is what we do best.’ Merced County Fair opens to big crowd after 2-year hiatus

The smiles, screams, laughs and the smell of fair food was back as the Merced County Fair opened it’s gates for the first time since 2019 on Wednesday evening.

After being dark for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, fair officials are expecting big crowds during the fair’s five-day run from Wednesday through Sunday..

“We are so excited to be back after two years,” said Merced County Fair CEO Teresa Burrola. “This is what we do best, which is get a fair up and running. Having been dark (for two years) it’s a great reward.”

Legoland California Resort and Ferrari are set to open ‘Lego Ferrari Build and Race’, a new interactive attraction that uses cutting-edge racing technology, on 12 May 2022.

The new offering puts guests in the driver’s seat as they build, test and race their own Lego Ferrari. Ahead of the launch, Lego bricks, wheels, tracks and a digital raceway are being installed at Legoland California.

Designed by Dimensional Innovations, Lego Ferrari Build and Race features technology that has never been used at any other Legoland park in the world. Guests will be able to scan their Lego cars and digitally race them through aerodynamic image analysis.
