Why do employees overcharge customers and keep the difference, write company checks to themselves or engage in other types of embezzlement?

Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office Senior Investigator Terry Seese said it’s sometimes because they see a need, like paying for a child’s private school tuition or for an elderly parent’s care. They do it when the employer doesn’t have sufficient checks and balances in place to curb the temptation to steal, he added.

33 guns stolen from gun show at Stanislaus County Fairgrounds

 The Turlock Police Department is searching for two suspects who took over 30 guns from a gun show at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds on Dec. 10.

Around 4:30 a.m., police said it received a call from a security guard, who reported to authorities that two armed and masked people entered a building where the gun show was taking place.

Man arrested after stealing from cash register at work Tuesday afternoon

On Tuesday, July 18th, 2023, at 3:40 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to reported fraudulent activity at The Home Depot, 2800 Countryside Dr, Turlock, after it had been discovered that an employee had been taking money out of the cash register.
