SoCal gas prices rise sharply as U.S. prices fall; California refinery issues continue

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Gas prices in Southern California continue to rise sharply as prices throughout the rest of the U.S. continue to fall.

According to GasBuddy, the national average is down two cents, currently costing $2.65 per gallon.

In California, the average as of Sunday is $3.98 per gallon and could hit $4 by late Sunday or Monday, GasBuddy says.

In San Diego County, the average price per gallon has increased by more than 40 cents over the last 13 days, AAA reports.
