Police said the victim is an adult male who was found near Martin and Clayton Avenues.

Stanislaus County Deputies Arrest and Shoot Crime Spree Suspect; Condition Now Stable

43-year-old Jason Dingler, from Merced County, was shot in a high-speed pursuit with police from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office. His condition is now stable.

Prior to the chase, Dingler committed multiple crimes including a home invasion, carjacking, stealing a firearm, and liquor theft.

Man shot while driving his vehicle in Modesto

 A man was driving in Modesto overnight when he was shot.

Modesto police say there was a shooting in the area of McHenry and Woodrow avenues between midnight and 2 a.m. During that time, an officer pulled a driver over for a traffic-related issue, and when the officer made contact with the driver, a male, the driver told the officer he had been shot but that he didn't know who shot him.

Police seize black-market marijuana, illegal flavored tobacco

A report about marijuana being sold illegally at a smoke shop on Lander Avenue turned into a multi-agency compliance check of smoke shops across Turlock on Tuesday.

A total of 10 businesses were visited, resulting in seven seizures, six citations issued (four civil and two criminal). Black-market marijuana, flavored inhalants, and flavored tobacco products were also seized as a result of the search warrant at the Lander Avenue business.

Third suspect arrested in Modesto armed robbery, police report

The third and final suspect in a Modesto robbery on Monday was identified and arrested Tuesday afternoon, police reported.

Leland Lennear, 26, of Modesto faces charges of robbery, hit-an-run and criminal conspiracy, Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Sharon Bear said.

Turlock teen last seen in company of sexual assault suspect

Local law enforcement is seeking the public’s help in finding a missing Turlock teenager last seen with a suspected sexual predator.

The California Highway Patrol issued an Emergency Missing Advisory on Tuesday afternoon for 16-year-old Monica Ascensio. The advisory was issued out of concern for her safety.

UPDATE: Arson suspect identified in Turlock fire that damages duplex, displaces residents.

A fire Sunday night damaged a duplex in Turlock and led to the arrest of one person allegedly connected with the fire, authorities said.

Turlock police said that Santiago Estorga Oheda was arrested on suspicion of arson. Police said Oheda, who is in his early 30s, knew some people who were living in the duplex, including his former girlfriend.

Oheda was in Stanislaus County jail with bail set at $985,000.

Man arrested in Turlock on suspicion of poisoning ex-girlfriend

Turlock police on Thursday arrested a man on suspicion of poisoning his ex-girlfriend.

The victim called police around 1 a.m. to report that a man she’d dated for about a year and recently broke up with had put rat poisoning in her food, makeup and marijuana, according to Turlock Police Department spokeswoman Dominique Sanchez.

The Turlock Police Department says the messages were found at "various households" in the northeast part of the city and cases similar to this have happened throughout California.

Modesto man clearing his gun accidentally shoots, kills his 83-year-old mother

An 83-year-old woman died after being accidentally shot by her son inside their Modesto home on Wednesday, according to police.

The incident occurred around 9 a.m. in the 300 block of Emerson Avenue, southeast of Rumble Road and McHenry Avenue.
