Coordinated Banner Drops And Outreach Across Northern California Pushes Back Against White Supremacist Activity

On Saturday, October 15th, anarchist and antifascist crews networked across the bay area and the central valley of so-called California to carry out a coordinated day of banner drops, flyering, stickering, and the distribution of literature across cities including Turlock, Modesto, Stockton, Davis, Sacramento, Berkeley, Oakland and Nevada County.

This action was carried out in response to ongoing neo-Nazi and white supremacist activity in the area under the banner of “White Lives Matter,” which has taken place in the middle of every month throughout 2022.

Man killed in fatal hit-and-run in Turlock. Police release photos of suspect’s vehicle

Turlock police are looking for the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on Fulkerth Road on Tuesday afternoon.

What authorities believe is a white Acura TL was traveling west on Fulkerth, between Tully Road and Countryside Drive, when it hit a pedestrian in the roadway, according to Sgt. Mike Parmley.

TURLOCK, Calif. —A pedestrian died Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle hit them and drove off, the Turlock Police Department said.

The hit-and-run crash in the 2100 block of Fulkerth Road was reported at 3:31 p.m., police said.

Repeat Offender Accused of Grand Theft Auto Pleads No Contest, Judge Offers Lenient Sentence for Accused’s Cooperation

MODESTO, CA – Judge Carrie Stephens accepted John William Merritt Sharp’s no contest plea here in Stanislaus County Superior Court late last week, and meted out a lighter-than-normal sentence for Sharp’s theft of a 2011 Lexus SUV and alleged evasion of police officers while driving dangerously.

Sharp faced charges of felony grand theft auto and felony reckless evading, and told the judge, “I could be better ma’am.”

Numbers reveal death toll from the fentanyl crisis is rising in Stanislaus County

Newly released numbers show the fentanyl crisis is responsible for a sharp increase in drug overdose deaths in Stanislaus County.

County public health has counted 229 deaths involving illegal fentanyl since 2020, when drug addiction counselors noticed that fentanyl-laced counterfeit pills were harming or killing people in Modesto.

Modesto woman arrested for financial elder abuse, grand theft in Turlock

TURLOCK, Calif. — Turlock police arrested a Modesto woman Wednesday for financial elder abuse and grand theft after an investigation began Sept. 2.

Catrina Moreno was booked in the Stanislaus County Jail on charges of grand theft, obtaining money by false pretenses, and financial elder abuse.
