FIVE BEER-FOCUSED RESTAURANTS TO TASTE CALIFORNIA’S BOOMING BEER SCENE

in Food & Drinks

Like you have probably noticed, beer is pretty hot right now. In fact, many restaurants in San Francisco are working hard to show beer the same respect as wine on their drinks lists, and hiring cicerones (like sommeliers, but for beer) to develop their beer lists.

Microbreweries continue to pop up all over town, and many of them are just as focused on pairing their beer with food. Here are some new places in SF for enjoying the fresh wave of beer, from breweries to beer-focused restaurants, and more.

Dust Bowl Brewing Releases Taco Truck Lime

in Food & Drinks

Turlock, California — Dust Bowl Brewing Co. announces the release of Taco Truck Lime, a crisp Mexican lager with a hint of lime and sea salt. This year-round beer joins an already popular line-up of Taco Truck Lager and Taco Truck Amber, which were first introduced in 2016. Easy-drinking at 4.7% ABV, Taco Truck Lime is available in 12oz cans / six packs and 12 packs as well as draft / 5.2 and 15.5 gallon kegs.

“The lime variation has always been a great seller in our taprooms on draft, so it just seemed like a natural decision to put it in cans and add it to the popular Taco Truck line-up,” shares Don Oliver, Brewmaster. “The addition of lime and sea salt creates a flavor profile that resonates with Mexican lager fans. The initial response has been impressive and we’ve already ordered another truckload of cans after just a few weeks in the market.”

Coronavirus impact: San Francisco bars, restaurants feel effects from COVID-19 concerns

in Economy/Health

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Concerns over the novel coronavirus, paired with San Francisco's new public health orders, are affecting bars and restaurants across the city.

Some people are celebrating the St. Patrick's Day holiday this weekend.

Turlock resident Vans Codrington goes to San Francisco on St. Patrick's Day Parade every year with his friends. Since it was canceled, they still decided to head out for a day in the city.

"Celebrating St. Patrick's Day with my friends -- people I love -- and we do it every year, so we decided to it anyway," Codrington said.

There was no hesitation or concern from his group of friends. "We're smart, we're adults, we know what we're supposed to do. As long as you're cautious and understand what's happening, it shouldn't be a deterrent to do anything else," Codrington said.
