in Event News

Last updated

The first stop on Turlock’s November holiday shopping calendar comes Saturday, when more than 80 vendors set up at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds. After Thanksgiving, there’s an evening of shopping and a tree lighting downtown on Friday, then a farm market with music and food trucks on Saturday. Here are the times and directions for all three.

  • Saturday, November 7, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stanislaus County Fairgrounds Holiday Market.
  • Friday, November 27, 5 to 9 p.m. Festival of Lights on East Main Street.
  • Saturday, November 28, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pageo Holiday Market.

Saturday, November 7: Holiday Market at the Fairgrounds

Start at the California Landscape Supply Floriculture Building at 900 N. Broadway. The fairgrounds lists free admission and parking. It directs drivers to park on Midway and enter the north lot from Broadway or Soderquist Road. If you’re meeting friends, send them the building name so everyone heads to the same place. This is the stop for a wide browse. The organizer lists vintage goods and collectibles alongside crafts, handmade gifts and baked treats. Families can also take free photos with Santa, do a craft or write a letter to Santa. If you’re coming specifically for a picture, ask the fairgrounds when Santa will be available. The event page lists the market hours, and you can save our local calendar listing for directions.

Friday, November 27: Shop Before the Tree Lighting

The day after Thanksgiving, the Festival of Lights runs from 5 to 9 p.m. on East Main Street. The Turlock Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Turlock Property Owners Association are organizing vendors. The ceremony starts at 7 p.m., with the tree lighting at 7:30 p.m. The Chamber lists Central Park, 115 S. Golden State Boulevard, for the event. Chamber event listing.

Give yourself time to browse if you also want to be at the tree lighting. You can make the vendor booths your first stop and set a time to meet at Central Park. The organizers list the downtown Christmas Parade separately for December 4. Downtown holiday calendar.

Saturday, November 28: Pageo Lavender Farm

Pageo’s tenth annual holiday market runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 11573 Golf Road. The farm lists handmade gifts, food trucks and music, so you can make lunch part of the outing. The farm shop and the market have separate hours. Use the event hours when planning the Saturday trip. Pageo market announcement.

The market is a chance to visit the farm even if you’ve never been to its gift shop. If you’re heading out for a specific vendor, check that vendor’s own schedule before leaving. For another trip, our guide to Turlock farms and farm stands explains what you can find at Pageo and other stops around town.

Pick a Stop for Your Shopping List

Choose the fairgrounds if you’re bringing children for a Santa photo or looking for something vintage. For gifts and the tree lighting in one evening, set aside November 27. Pageo is the stop to save for a Saturday lunch and a look through the makers’ booths. If you find a maker you like, take a card or save their shop name so you can find their work again.
