The Charburger is the starting point
Habit began in Santa Barbara in 1969, according to its company history. Its signature approach is cooking burgers over an open flame.
The Charburger meal pairs a beef burger with fries and a drink. Caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles and mayonnaise are part of the burger’s basic build. The Santa Barbara Char takes a different approach: two patties, avocado and cheese on grilled sourdough. Knowing the bread and portion differ is useful when comparing the names.
The wider menu also includes chicken and tuna sandwiches, salads, children’s meals, sides and shakes. Tempura green beans and sweet potato fries offer alternatives to the standard fries.
